The Foreign Language Centre produces translations of different types of private and business letters, documents, contracts etc. for companies, institutions and private individuals with the help of a team of qualified translators. The translations are edited in the format of the source language document and are delivered either on paper, discs or via E-mail, as requested
Upon request qualified interpreters offer interpretation services (consecutive or simultaneous) at business negotiations with foreign partners, on business trips abroad and at conferences.
The entrance exam consists of a written test: translation from Hungarian into the foreign language and from the foreign language into Hungarian (3 hours). In the course of the oral exam candidates engage in conversation both in Hungarian and in the foreign language of their choice, and have to render a Hungarian text in the foreign language and the other way round. The topics include general knowledge, politics and economy. In the case of both the written and the oral exam no dictionaries can be used.
In the course of the first three semesters courses are held Fridays from 2 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 to 12 a.m. In the fourth semester courses are held every fortnight.
